Venture Energy has been an ISCC certified Trader of renewable fuels since 2025, when it received certification from RINA. We are able to provide open-book accounting of carbon intensity to our customers in order to meet the stringent requirements of EU regulators.

Commercial Viability

We work closely with producers and downstream customers to properly understand the long-term viability of their commercial strategy and offtake pricing against changing emissions regulations across jurisdictions and competitiveness against alternative means of of compliance. Developing an understanding of both producer and offtaker cost dynamics informs our ability to both source and place the best product at the most competitive price.

Technical Vetting

In addition to ensuring ISCC and RED compliance, Venture Energy undertakes its own extensive technical due diligence of project plants that exceeds the standard PoS audit.

We analyse the technical processes of projects from feedstock through plant and distribution to port with a view to ensuring the stated carbon intensity is long-run sustainable and commercially viable at the prices offered to our customers. We look carefully for gaps that indicate the possibility of future non-compliance.

Financial & Counterpart Vetting

We believe sustainability is not just about a clean product, it’s about long-term reliability. Venture Energy works closely with counterparts to better understand the commercial model of the plant and its long-term viability with or without subsidy, as well as the financial strength and reputability of its sponsor.

In particular, we spend time on the due diligence of permitting and other local approvals that indicate appropriate governmental support.

Ongoing Control & Management

Our technical staff in Beijing maintain ongoing contact with our partner suppliers, with regular visits and periodic vetting designed to ensure ongoing compliance and the early identification of any challenges. Where possible, we offer upstream access to our downstream offtakers.
